Nainap Phromphakdi, President of the Paralympic Committee of Thailand, praised the Thai Para team's performance at the 2026 Asian Para Games in Japan after they secured 19 gold medals and ranked first in ASEAN. He highlighted the strong showing of rising stars as a positive sign ahead of the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

Lt. Col. Nainap stated, "I am proud of the achievements of the athletes, coaches, and all staff who have dedicated themselves fully. Especially the development of Thai athletes reflected through improved competition statistics, along with many rising stars who have produced outstanding performances, which is a good sign for the development of Thai Para sports potential."

Notable rising stars include "Anfield" Nithikon Chiamphiriyakul, a Para swimmer competing for the first time who won two golds and one silver, a newcomer to wheelchair racing who trained for less than six months but captured a bronze, and "Fahsai" Yaparama, age 20, who won two silvers after less than six months of training.

Thai Gold Prices Fall Further Amid Global Sell-Off

Thai gold prices dropped again on October 24, with bars at 63,900 baht and jewelry at 62,625 baht buy prices. Analyst Sirilak Prakobphrapa attributes the decline to global gold falling for three straight sessions after SPDR sold nearly 12 tonnes, outweighing strong Indian ETF inflows. If international prices break below $3,940 per ounce, a sustained downtrend could follow, though short-term support may appear around $4,145-4,150.
