Thai Sprinter Biu Wins 100m Gold, Celebrates with Haaland Dance
Thai sprinter Biu Phuripol Bunsorn claimed gold in the 100m at the Asian Games with a competition-record 9.90 seconds, celebrating with Erling Haaland's signature dance move.
Biu Phuripol Bunsorn, a young Thai national sprinter, has successfully won the gold medal in the men's 100-metre run at the 20th Asian Games, setting a new competition record with a time of 9.90 seconds. At the moment of victory, Biu celebrated by performing a dance move made famous by Manchester United forward Erling Haaland. When asked about the celebration, Biu said, "Yes, it was Haaland's celebration move. I didn't have time to think in that moment, and Haaland's move just flashed into my head." Biu still has two events remaining—the 200-metre run and the men's 4×100-metre relay—and revealed that if he wins gold again, he might change his celebration, though he hasn't yet decided whose signature move he'll use next.
