Thai Volleyball Star Thanks Coach Park After Qatar Win
Thailand's men's volleyball team defeated Qatar in their opening match of the 2026 AVC Championship in Japan, with star player Anuchit Phakdeekaew thanking Coach Park Gi-won for treating the squad to Starbucks after the victory.
Anuchit Phakdeekaew, a male volleyball player for the Thai national team, posted a message thanking Coach Park Gi-won, head coach of Thailand's men's volleyball team, during the Asian Championship competition in Japan.
The Thai men's volleyball team is currently competing in the 2026 AVC Men's Continental Championship, held from September 4–13 in Fukuoka, Japan. In their opening match on September 5, they defeated Qatar successfully.
Anuchit Phakdeekaew, one of the players on the squad, posted a message to Coach Park Gi-won, noting that the South Korean head coach treated the team to premium coffee after their successful victory over Qatar.
The post stated: "Thanks Coach, we beat Qatar and got Starbucks," which drew considerable praise from fans commenting on Coach Park's gesture.
For the next match, the Thai national team will face South Korea on September 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., broadcast live on Monomax.
