Thai Weightlifter Natchaa Wins Two Gold, One Bronze at Asian Youth Championships
Thai weightlifter Ploy Natchaa Kaewnoi won two gold medals and one bronze at the Asian Youth Championships in Uzbekistan, with a combined total of 189 kilograms in the women's youth 53-kilogram division.
At the Asian Junior and Youth Weightlifting Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Thailand's team has already captured two gold medals and one silver medal from Noi Naruemal Wonghajaak in the women's youth 49-kilogram division.
On August 9, 2025, Thailand added more medals through Ploy Natchaa Kaewnoi competing in the women's youth 53-kilogram category, Group A. In the snatch lift, Natchaa's opening attempt at 81 kilograms failed, but she succeeded on her second try at 82 kilograms and was unable to lift 85 kilograms on her third attempt, earning a bronze medal with a 82-kilogram snatch. In the clean and jerk, the Thai athlete gave her maximum effort and successfully lifted 101, 104, and 107 kilograms on all three attempts, securing a gold medal with a 107-kilogram clean and jerk and a combined total of 189 kilograms, also earning another gold medal. Natchaa's final medal count is two gold medals and one bronze medal.
In the men's youth 65-kilogram division, Group B, Nattakitti Gamvilai achieved a snatch record of 110 kilograms and a clean and jerk record of 130 kilograms for a total of 240 kilograms. In the men's youth 65-kilogram division, Group B, Phanudej Pankrod set a snatch record of 106 kilograms and a clean and jerk record of 140 kilograms for a total of 246 kilograms.
Thailand's overall medal count now stands at four gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal.
