Mom Luang Krit Kasemsan, president of the Thailand Ice Hockey Association, led the national youth ice hockey teams (under-14 and under-16) in a blessing ceremony at Rajamangala Stadium to seek good fortune and morale before their departure for international competitions in New Zealand and Australia. The ceremony was also attended by team manager Chanistha Liowchalermwong, who accompanied the athletes in the rite ahead of their participation in two major events: the Pan Pacific Series in New Zealand and the One Hockey 14th Pee Wee & Bantam International Tournament 2026 in Australia. Mom Luang Krit explained that visiting the shrine to ask for blessings in front of the stadium is a continuing tradition of the association each time the national ice hockey team goes abroad, intended to give the players confidence and auspiciousness before they compete for Thailand. He noted that both age groups are promising prospects for the association and will become key players in developing Thai ice hockey, with the potential to replace senior national team members in the future. The competition aims for each player to perform to the best of their ability, gain experience, and improve their skills by facing international opponents. Moreover, he emphasized that more important than the results is the players’ role as cultural ambassadors of Thailand, demonstrating sportsmanship, discipline, and friendship to build a positive image and raise Thailand’s profile worldwide. The schedule shows the Thai youth ice hockey team will compete in the Pan Pacific Series in New Zealand from October 29 to November 2, 2069, before traveling to Australia for the One Hockey 14th Pee Wee & Bantam International Tournament 2026 from November 2 to 7, 2069.
