Thailand Issues Heavy Rain Alert Through July 30
Thailand's meteorological department warned of heavy to very heavy rain across most regions through July 30, with flash flooding risks in hilly and low-lying areas and waves exceeding 3 meters in the Andaman Sea.
The Thai Meteorological Department issued its 10th warning on July 28, 2025, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall across Thailand through July 30. Heavy rain is expected in the North, Northeast, Central, Eastern, and Western Coast regions due to a monsoon trough moving through the northern and upper northeastern areas combined with a strengthened southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. The public is urged to prepare for flash flooding and flash floods, especially in hilly terrain near waterways and low-lying areas.
In the Andaman Sea, waves are forecast at 2–3 meters, exceeding 3 meters in thunderstorm areas. The upper Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea will see waves around 2 meters, rising above 2 meters during storms. Fishermen are advised to exercise caution and avoid areas with thunderstorms, while small boats in the upper Andaman should remain ashore during this period.
