Thailand U-20 Coach Names 26 Players for Asian Cup Qualifier Camp
Thailand's U-20 football coach has named 26 players for a training camp in Chon Buri ahead of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers, which begin August 31 against the UAE, Iraq, and Turkmenistan.
Coach Chakraphan Panpee, head coach of Thailand's U-20 men's football team, has announced a 26-player squad for a final training camp ahead of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers. The Thai Football Association named the roster to prepare for the competition, which runs from August 31 to September 6 in Chon Buri province under Panpee's leadership.
Thailand's U-20 side is grouped with Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkmenistan in Group F. In the qualifying round, teams play round-robin matches, with the eight group champions and the seven best-performing runners-up advancing to the final tournament in China in early 2025 to compete for four AFC spots at the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
The 26-player squad includes goalkeepers Pumirapi Siribunyagul, Supakorn Poolpol, and Narak Saengsawang; defenders Vision Inaaram, Jiraphong Chemsagul, Purich Saphenesawang, Supanat Mahavaai, Jakrapol Upkaraka, Surachai Bunchareei, Thanyakorn Savengsuk, and Purinat Poolgamlung; midfielders Danupol Bubpha, Pichaya Kongsri, Patrathorn Buransuk, Surachet Kithuntod, Pawaris Bunmalert, Naphatthorn Chumpanya, and Kantaphattana Soensenaa; and forwards Shivakorn Phonsorn, Nattakitti Pothsri, Nathakorn Rattansuwan, Khemchat Sukto, Chantawat Gatib, Shiva Pikulhom, Phongphet Iemsoad, and Thanyawisit Taman.
The squad will report to the FA Thailand headquarters on August 15 at 10:00 a.m. and proceed immediately to Pattaya Sports Resort in Chon Buri for the training camp. Two warm-up matches are scheduled against Iran's U-20 team at Chon Buri Stadium on August 19, with one additional friendly match to be announced. The final squad of 23 players will be selected on August 29 ahead of the qualifiers.
Thailand's matches in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers are scheduled as follows: versus the United Arab Emirates on August 31, versus Turkmenistan on September 3, and versus Iraq on September 6. All matches will be played at Chon Buri Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
