Tragic: 15-Year-Old Girl Dies After Motorcycle Crashes Into Parked Trailer
A 15-year-old girl died after her motorcycle struck a parked trailer on a Kamphaeng Phet roadside in Thailand. Police are charging the truck drivers with recklessness after they left the trailer unattended due to radiator failure.
A 15-year-old girl died at the scene after her motorcycle collided with the rear of a parked trailer. The truck driver stated that his radiator had malfunctioned, so he detached and left the trailer parked on the roadside before taking the truck for repairs.
At approximately 6:15 p.m. on May 18, 2025, Lieutenant Adun Ratanavorakun, the investigator at Mueang Kamphaeng Phet Police Station, received notification of a motorcycle crash into a parked trailer that resulted in a fatality on the Kamphaeng Phet city entrance road, about 500 meters from the Nakhon Chum intersection in Nakhon Chum subdistrict, Mueang district, Kamphaeng Phet province. Hospital staff and rescue volunteers were dispatched to the scene.
At the scene, investigators found a purple trailer (license plate 70-5491, Kamphaeng Phet) parked on the roadside. Behind it was a white Honda Giorno motorcycle (license plate 1 กพ 2427, Kamphaeng Phet) badly crushed and wedged underneath the trailer. The motorcycle had struck the victim, a 15-year-old girl. The body showed a broken neck, severe facial lacerations on the right side, and a fractured right leg. It appeared the motorcycle was traveling at high speed before colliding violently with the trailer's rear. Security camera footage from the area showed the victim's motorcycle traveling along the shoulder before striking the parked trailer hard.
During investigation, two Chaiyaphum residents—29-year-old Wan Chalerm and 28-year-old Abhichai (surnames withheld)—both truck drivers, stated that they had been driving an empty truck from Chiang Mai to Phra Pradaeng. When they reached the Nakhon Chum intersection, the radiator malfunctioned, so they turned into a repair shop. They detached the trailer and left it parked on the roadside at the accident location, then drove the white Isuzu truck head unit (license plate 74-5221, Samut Prakan) to the repair shop. They went to eat, and shortly after, the repair shop mechanic called to inform them of the accident.
Police are preparing to charge the truck drivers with recklessness resulting in death. Officials from the Kamphaeng Phet Transportation Department also inspected the scene and gathered evidence to proceed with charges under the Land Transportation Act.
