Viral: Pregnant Mother Expecting Twins Flaunts Massive Belly, Starkly Different from First Twin Pregnancy, Video Hits 22 Million Views
Mexican mother's second twin pregnancy resulted in a dramatically larger belly than her first, with the viral TikTok video garnering over 22 million views and sparking speculation online.
On May 2, a Mexican mother's TikTok video went viral worldwide when she showed her dramatically enlarged belly during her second twin pregnancy, leaving netizens shocked and some making humorous comments like "her husband should apologize."
Edith, a young mother, revealed that she previously gave birth to twin girls in 2023 before becoming pregnant again with twins in less than a year. The stark difference was the noticeably larger belly size compared to her first pregnancy. She reflected, "When I look back at this video, I still can't believe I made it through that," with the clip exceeding 22 million views.
She offered encouragement to other expectant mothers, saying "Every pregnancy is different, and all your feelings matter."
Why do some twin pregnancies result in unusually large bellies?
Online commenters flooded the post with reactions like "Is there a golf course in there?" "Will the baby come out two years old?" and "Looks like there are five people inside!"
Pregnancy experts explain that abnormally large belly size can result from multiple factors such as excess amniotic fluid, larger babies, or stretched abdominal muscles from previous pregnancies.
The mother revealed she delivered twins prematurely both times—four weeks early the first time and five weeks early the second time, which is common in twin pregnancies. Despite minimal stretch marks, she acknowledged her belly didn't return to normal, even with five weekly exercise sessions. She is planning cosmetic surgery to address excess skin.
In related news, an American mother delivered a 5.9 kilogram baby boy, remarkable compared to infants born on the same day.
