Warong Claims Decisive Evidence to Topple Minister in No‑Confidence Debate

Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom says he has secured the interpellation against Digital Economy and Society Minister Chaiyachok Chidchob and claims he possesses decisive evidence that will force the minister out, joking that an ambulance will be needed. He said the opposition is still debating whether the no‑confidence debate will last three or five days, and that the main targets include Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and several other officials. Warong alleges the evidence concerns the TH‑AI Passport project and alleged bid‑rigging, which he describes as corruption.

At 09:00 on October 20, 2069 at the parliament building, Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom, a list‑elected MP and head of the Thai Pakdee Party, gave an interview about preparations for the no‑confidence debate against the government. He said that later that day the opposition whip caucus would likely discuss whether the debate should run for three days or five days, noting that he was still unsure which length would be agreed upon.

Warong stated that, based on their discussions, the inevitable focus of the interpellation would be Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who also serves as interior minister, and Digital Economy and Society Minister Chaiyachok Chidchob, plus several other officials. He explained that the People’s Party had allowed each party to submit policy complaints, which formed the basis of the motion that the People’s Party would draft.

When asked whom he had reserved the interpellation for, Warong replied, “I have reserved it for Chaiyachok Chidchob, and those calling for evidence should look at what I present during the debate.”

Pressed on whether his evidence would be strong enough to topple the minister, Warong said, drawing on his medical background, that an ambulance must be on standby because he is confident the evidence will be decisive. He insisted he was not joking or speaking in riddles, but would remain calm and then catch the dishonest target.

Asked if the ambulance remark meant Chaiyachok could not remain in office, Warong acknowledged that the minister enjoys political connections and is seen as a ‘lucky god’, but argued that if Prime Minister Anutin adopts a straightforward approach, Chaiyachok would struggle to answer because Warong is confident that the evidence prepared by his team will be difficult to rebut.

Regarding the substance of the evidence, Warong indicated it likely relates to matters such as the TH‑AI Passport project, which he had previously given the minister a chance to improve but which remained unchanged. He reiterated his long‑standing criticism of the project.

When questioned whether the allegations amount to malfeasance in public office, Warong affirmed that bid‑rigging—or ‘lock‑spec’ as it is known locally—constitutes corruption, and in plain language it is simply cheating.
