Government Whip Calls for Clear Evidence in No-Confidence Debate
Krawit Prisananantakul, the Bhumjaithai Party’s government whip, said the cabinet still needs to set a date for the no‑confidence debate targeting Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and 18 other ministers. He urged the opposition to present clear evidence of wrongdoing, warning that vague accusations would not convince MPs. The opposition and government whips will discuss the debate schedule once the date is fixed, and the Bhumjaithai Party plans to meet next week to prepare its response.
Krawit Prisananantakul, the government whip from the Bhumjaithai Party, said on October 14, 2026, at Parliament that the cabinet must first decide on a date for the no-confidence debate targeting Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and 18 other ministers. He added that once the date is set, the opposition and government whips, along with cabinet representatives, will discuss the allotted time to ensure the opposition gets sufficient time to present substantive evidence. Krawit stressed that the debate should focus on clear proof of ministerial wrongdoing, such as documents, clips, or financial transfers, rather than vague accusations or reliance on hearsay. He cited past rice‑pledging debates where concrete evidence was presented, and said he expects the same standard this time, warning that baseless claims would make MPs’ decisions easy. He also dismissed repeated references to the earlier Senate caucus issue unless new, verifiable proof of current government misuse of power is shown. Krawit predicted that the Bhumjaithai Party would meet next week to prepare, noting that the 18 named ministers have likely already readied their responses, while his party’s MPs will aim to keep the debate focused and avoid straying from the substance.
