Woman Shoots Ex-Boyfriend Dead, Flees in Car

A 33-year-old woman is accused of using a firearm to shoot a 34-year-old man fatally at his residential home in Dang Yai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province, allegedly due to jealousy. As of noon on July 27, 2569 (2026), Deputy Provincial Police Region Commander Preecha Kaengsakit and Superintendent Phakaphum Dechareungsil continued investigating the case, questioning a female witness and friend of the deceased who confirmed the suspect's identity as the victim's ex-girlfriend.

The witness recounted that the suspect burst into the home and fired one shot at the victim before forcing herself into a vehicle to flee, later dropping the witness near the village entrance. The victim's supervisor, 43-year-old Kanchanapon (surname withheld), stated she learned of the incident that morning and provided police with information about the relationship. She noted the couple had dated for approximately five months after an initial two to three-month period, with the woman picking up and dropping off the man at work since he had no vehicle. The supervisor described the victim as a friendly, helpful person well-liked by coworkers who would withdraw quietly rather than argue when upset.

Police reported the suspect has already surrendered in Nong Bua Lamphu Province. Preliminary investigation suggests jealousy and resentment as motives. Additional information indicates the victim had recently undergone surgery and was being cared for by a female friend visiting from Pattaya who had her own boyfriend when the suspect arrived at the residence, found them together, and became jealous, leading to the shooting. The suspect allegedly brandished a gun, forced the victim's friend into her car, and later released her at the village entrance. Police await further detailed investigation into the full circumstances.
