The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Pongchorn Ueangmongkhchai, executive chairman, Panupon Kittikamron, senior management consultant, and Ukrit Phakwivorn, deputy general manager of commerce and marketing at Thai Yamaha Motor, alongside Nevin Chidchob, chairman of Chang International Circuit, and race organizers.

This year's event runs under the theme "Beat the Night, Run the Light" and marks the full entry into the marathon's second decade, positioning Buriram province as Asia's premier marathon destination and establishing it as an internationally recognized running event. The race is scheduled for Saturday, January 23, 2027, in Buriram province.

Under its "Feel The Unique Experience" philosophy, Yamaha believes memorable moments come from experiencing new things, meeting new people, and participating in inspiring activities. This year the company is inviting Yamaha motorcycle customers, dealers nationwide, and media to experience the world-class night race atmosphere and be part of Thailand's major sports festival.

At 5:20 p.m. on July 21, 2569, police in Mueang Trang received a report of a man shot with a shotgun outside a general store on Nah Muea Rat Road in Na Bin La subdistrict, Mueang district, Trang province. Officers arrived to find Thaninchay, known as "Nin," age 26, suffering multiple shotgun wounds to the chest. He was lying next to a black Honda Forza 350 motorcycle (Trang license plate 1 KS 4992). Emergency responders performed CPR and rushed him to Trang Hospital, but he died from his injuries.

Investigators found one shotgun shell casing, shell fragments, and pieces of the perpetrator's car mirror at the scene, which they collected as evidence. The victim's motorcycle contained herbal drink and rice he had just purchased. The plate was later suspected to be fake.

Witness accounts indicated the victim had arrived alone on his motorcycle and spent about five minutes inside the shop buying rice before walking out, placing his purchases under the seat, putting on his helmet, and preparing to leave. A black car suddenly pulled alongside at close range, the window lowered, and the occupant fired two shotgun rounds with a five-second gap before speeding away. Investigators believe the shooter had carefully planned and tracked the victim from a cockfighting arena in Ban Khuan subdistrict, where the victim had just finished livestreaming a match. The victim was heading home to Na Khao Siao subdistrict when he stopped at the store. Police are treating this as a premeditated ambush, though personal dispute is the primary theory; other motives have not been ruled out. The victim had no prior arrest record or criminal history.

Thailand's national football team continues intensive training in the final stretch before competing in the 2026 ASEAN Football Championship, with the squad scheduled to open against Laos on July 25 at Laos National Stadium.

On July 21, 2024, a 22-year-old man identified as Def entered a police station in Udon Thani asking officers to confirm receipt of 10,000 baht he claimed the famous comedian Mam Jok Mok had transferred for travel to Yasothon province. When questioned about his story, Def insisted that a "mind-reading device" had revealed to him that Mam Jok Mok was his biological father, though he acknowledged he was legally an adopted child. Officers at the station noticed his behavior appeared unstable.

Police later conducted a background check using his real name and found no records linking Def to Mam Jok Mok by blood or adoption. Def continued insisting that Mam Jok Mok was his true father. The investigation revealed that Def's registered residence is in Non Sang District, Nong Bua Lamphu province, with no connection to the comedian.

In a phone interview, Def's biological father, Ketu, a construction worker currently on Samui Island, confirmed that Def is his biological son and his only child. Pol. Maj. Gen. Prasong explained that in mid-May, he and his team visited bedridden patients in the Nimitmai Police Station area and discovered that Kamphanthai's previous rental agreement was about to expire and the landlord required him to vacate by May 30, 2025.

He then ordered officers to locate a new rental property just 500 meters away at a monthly rate of 3,000 baht with a three-year lease. Police coordinated with Khlong Samwa District Office to dismantle the old house and construct a temporary shelter. However, recognizing that the tent shelter was too hot and vulnerable to storms, Region 3 Police worked with Bangkok Waterworks Authority's Minburi office, the Region 3 police committee, and various foundations to plan and construct a durable permanent home. A speeding motorcycle ran a red light and struck a Grade 8 female student as she crossed a zebra crossing, leaving her severely injured. Security footage captured the moment of impact.

Emergency responders in Bang Phli received the report at 6:10 p.m. on July 21, 2025, regarding a motorcycle-student collision on Rural Highway Route 2001, also known as Sri Waree Noi Road in Bang Chlong subdistrict, Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan Province. Rescue workers arrived to find a 13-year-old student from a school in Bang Saothong district with severe injuries to her right leg and back, plus facial abrasions and bruising. She was given first aid and transported to Bang Phli Hospital. The motorcycle driver, 31-year-old Nattavut, sustained facial and body abrasions and was also treated and transported to hospital.

When questioned, the injured student confirmed she had pressed the pedestrian signal to cross the zebra crossing and was waiting for the green light before attempting to cross. The driver claimed he did not see the red light and could not recall the details of what happened, and denied drinking alcohol.

CCTV footage from cameras near the scene shows the student waiting at the signal, then looking both ways before quickly crossing the zebra crossing when the green light appeared. At that moment, the motorcycle approached at high speed, ignoring both the red light and the zebra crossing, and struck her forcefully, sending her flying more than 10 meters.

Police are scheduled to interview both parties again before deciding whether to press charges against the motorcycle driver.
