Police Build Home for Bedridden Accident Victim
Police and volunteers built a permanent home for 51-year-old Kamphanthai Kamprom, who became bedridden after a motor vehicle accident, on a Bangkok plot near Nawamintrachinuthit Girls School 2.
Region 3 Police Bureau and the Police Wives Club delivered a new home to a bedridden patient in need, reaffirming the principle of 'leaving no one behind.' On July 21, 2025, Pol. Maj. Gen. Prasong Ananmani, commander of Region 3, along with officers from Nimitmai Police Station, representatives from the Police Wives Club led by Somruetai Bunsomboon and Panisa Santhiner, collaborated with officials including Phummesat Chaitrakul, Deputy Governor of Bangkok Waterworks Authority, and administrators of Nawamintrachinuthit Girls School 2, as well as residents of the Fuengfa Development Community, to implement the 'House for the Bedridden' project.
The team handed over a new home to 51-year-old Kamphanthai Kamprom, who became bedridden following a motor vehicle accident and is cared for solely by his wife, in the area adjacent to Nawamintrachinuthit Girls School 2 on Nimitmai Soi 64, Samwat Subdistrict, Khlong Samwa District, Bangkok. Pol. Maj. Gen. Prasong explained that in mid-May, he and his team visited bedridden patients in the Nimitmai Police Station area and discovered that Kamphanthai's previous rental agreement was about to expire and the landlord required him to vacate by May 30, 2025.
He then ordered officers to locate a new rental property just 500 meters away at a monthly rate of 3,000 baht with a three-year lease. Police coordinated with Khlong Samwa District Office to dismantle the old house and construct a temporary shelter. However, recognizing that the tent shelter was too hot and vulnerable to storms, Region 3 Police worked with Bangkok Waterworks Authority's Minburi office, the Region 3 police committee, and various foundations to plan and construct a durable permanent home. Workers installed pilings, concrete, the house frame and single-story roof, walls, ceiling, bathroom, electrical and water systems, and paint finishing. Construction was completed in early July and the home was formally handed over today. Kamphanthai expressed overwhelming gratitude for the sturdy new home that would protect him and his wife from storms and rain, and thanked all officers and agencies for their compassion and assistance.
