100,000 Baht Reward Offered in Songkhla Dog Poisoning Case

On October 28, 2026, at the Jana District Office meeting room in Songkhla Province, the animal welfare organization 'The Hope Songkhla' joined with local animal-loving volunteers, Jana District Administration, Jana Municipality, Jana Subdistrict Administrative Organization, and the Special Operations Unit to hold a meeting on resolving and tracking the case of mass dog poisonings. The Jana District Deputy Chief chaired the meeting. Following up on the two consecutive mass dog poisoning incidents on October 22 and 24, 2026, a Jana Subdistrict Administrative Organization representative reported on case progress. They conferred with all relevant agencies to find solutions for animal cruelty and sustainable animal welfare in the area. The Hope Songkhla submitted a request to Jana Municipality for CCTV footage from both incident periods. The municipality assigned its investigation unit, while the Subdistrict Administrative Organization was tasked with compiling all evidence for the investigation and pursuing the perpetrator for legal prosecution. They also discussed local issues. Jana Municipality emphasized two key points: controlling the animal population by establishing a monitoring system and accelerating continuous dog and cat sterilization projects; and publicizing laws to raise awareness and warn the public of legal penalties. Meanwhile, the public and animal-loving groups have jointly raised a 100,000 baht reward for anyone with clues or local residents with CCTV cameras who review and find evidence of the wrongdoing on the night of October 24. The incident is believed to have occurred between midnight and 8:00 AM. Authorities suspect the perpetrator may have collected dog carcasses during the poisoning. Anyone with video evidence or who spots suspicious individuals or vehicles should immediately report to Jana Police, the Subdistrict Administrative Organization, or The Hope Songkhla.
