Cockfarm Owner Seeks Justice After Dog Kills 40 Birds
A cockfarm owner in Ang Thong Province is seeking justice after a dog killed 40 fighting cocks worth 240,000 baht in a single attack, with police attempting to mediate with the suspected dog owner who denies ownership.
On September 14, 2569, at Petchklanarong Farm in Moo 2, Ban It Subdistrict, Muang District, Ang Thong Province, 45-year-old Eknaron, known as Not, revealed that fighting cocks bred at his farm for sale have been repeatedly attacked and killed by a dog, resulting in losses totaling hundreds of thousands of baht.
Most recently, on the night of September 6, a dog dug under the farm's mesh fence and killed 40 fighting cocks inside, causing 240,000 baht in damage at 6,000 baht per bird. Not filed a complaint with Sergeant Prasit Kongnaiyasat, an investigator at Muang Ang Thong Police Station, on September 7.
Not is seeking justice through the media after filing the complaint. Police attempted mediation with the dog's owner, who is suspected of responsibility for the killings. However, the owner initially denied that the dog was his own, claiming the attacking dog was a stray.
Not expressed anxiety about future attacks, noting that his farm covers 8 rai and houses 300 fighting cocks in mesh-fenced enclosures and larger breeding pens. The farm keeps purebred roosters including Kumar Champion, valued at 20 million baht, and Indri Black, worth 12 million baht.
When reporters contacted the dog's owner, he maintained that the attacking dog was not his, stating his own dog is black while the attacking dog was a stray. He awaits further contact from police to proceed according to legal procedures.
