On September 14, Kunegij Promnuchanon, director of the Lampang Provincial Buddhist Office, released the statement in response to images and videos circulating on social media showing a performance at an entertainment venue in Lampang where performers dressed as Buddhist monks and engaged in inappropriate behavior on stage. The images have caused significant distress and hurt the faith of Buddhists. The Lampang Provincial Buddhist Office stated that it is not ignoring the matter and has coordinated with the provincial administration and relevant officials to investigate and pursue legal action against those responsible and all involved parties. The office is seeking cooperation from all sectors, including entertainment venue operators, artists, performers, and the public, asking all to recognize the importance and sensitivity of religious institutions.
