Police Arrest Woman With 2kg Methamphetamine in Pattaya Sting
Police arrested a 46-year-old woman in North Pattaya after an undercover buy of 2kg of methamphetamine, leading to a second arrest in Bangkok where officers seized additional ketamine.
On September 14, 2024, Chachoengsao Provincial Police leadership ordered an intensified crackdown on drug networks and dealers smuggling narcotics into the province and tourist areas. Officers arranged an undercover purchase of 2 kilograms of ice for 200,000 baht from a dealer using the Line alias "Hmu Pa," with delivery scheduled at a cafe in a petrol station in North Pattaya on Sukhumvit Road, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District. When a red Toyota Yaris with a Phitsanulok license plate arrived at the agreed time, a woman identified as Thitiporn, alias Miu, aged 46, exited the vehicle and was immediately arrested by officers. A search of the car revealed approximately 2,127 grams of methamphetamine stored under the rear seat. Officers then expanded the investigation to a hotel in Bangkok's Samsen Nai Subdistrict, where they arrested Surasak, alias Num, aged 42, with approximately 2,100 grams of ketamine found in his possession. Both suspects were forwarded for prosecution on charges of trafficking Class 1 controlled substances (methamphetamine) and Class 2 controlled substances (ketamine) with intent to distribute and for commercial gain.
