Man Stabs Girlfriend to Death in Rayong Lodging, Flees

Rayong — A 42-year-old man fatally stabbed his 35-year-old girlfriend during a violent quarrel at a rented room in Plauk Daeng District, Rayong Province. The woman, an industrial estate employee, suffered a knife wound that pierced her rib cage and severed a coronary artery. Police rushed her to hospital, but she died from her injuries.

On September 14, 2026, Sergeant Chatchai Wilaileot of Plauk Daeng Police Station received a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at a rented room in Moo 4, Plauk Daeng Subdistrict. He reported the matter to his superior and proceeded to investigate, accompanied by Plauk Daeng rescue officers.

At the scene, officers found the victim, a 35-year-old woman employed at a company in the Plauk Daeng Industrial Estate, with a stab wound penetrating her rib cage and severing a coronary artery. She was transported to hospital but died shortly after arrival.

The suspect is her boyfriend, aged 42, with whom she had been living for some time but had not married. After the attack, he fled on a motorcycle. Officers discovered a sharp kitchen knife at the scene, along with pools of blood and bloodstained cloth.

According to neighbors' statements, the suspect had been living with the victim and the couple had been arguing intensely out of jealousy in the days preceding the incident. Neighbors initially thought it was a typical couple's quarrel until they heard the woman crying for help and running out of the room covered in blood. They immediately contacted police and rescue services.

Investigators are intensifying their search for the suspect, who is believed to have not fled far from the area. The attack is believed to have been triggered by jealousy and sudden rage during the argument, without premeditation, as evidenced by the kitchen knife used being found at the scene. Police are conducting detailed interviews with witnesses and persons of interest to pursue legal action against the suspect.
