Woman Stabbed to Death in Rayong Home Attack
A 37-year-old woman from Nakhon Phanom was found dead from multiple stab wounds in her Rayong townhouse on September 15; police are searching for a man in a blue shirt who fled in a white pickup truck.
At 10:00 a.m. on September 15, Deputy Superintendent Chatchai Wilailert of Plak Plai Cheewit Police Station received a report of a stabbing victim with serious injuries inside a townhouse in the village. Rescue teams from Plak Plai Cheewit and Bangkok Plak Plai Cheewit Hospital rushed to the scene.
Authorities found Jinthahra Upasane, 37, a native of Nakhon Phanom Province, unconscious with no pulse and severe stab wounds from a knife. She had lost a significant amount of blood. Rescue workers performed CPR and rushed her to Bangkok Plak Plai Cheewit Hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. Inside the house, blood was scattered throughout, and a roughly 30-centimeter pointed knife stained with blood was found and collected as evidence.
Neighbors reported hearing a woman screaming continuously. They initially thought a snake had entered the house but discovered the victim upon investigation and immediately called for rescue assistance.
Initial investigation of nearby closed-circuit television footage revealed a man in a blue shirt, surgical mask, and hat who arrived in a white four-door pickup truck, stopped in front of the house, rolled down the window asking a neighbor to help take the victim to the hospital, then quickly drove away.
Police have not yet determined the motive and are continuing to interview witnesses, collect fingerprint evidence, and track the suspect's escape route using CCTV footage to pursue further investigation and legal action.
