Thailand Launches Full-Service Athletes' House at Asian Games
Thailand opens a full-service athletes' house at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, featuring personalized nutrition support from Ajinomoto and comprehensive sports science services designed to enhance athletic performance.
The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) is establishing a full-service Thai House command center for the Thai athletic delegation at the 20th Asian Games in Japan, which runs from September 19 to October 4, 2026, in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. The facility will open from September 18 and provide comprehensive athlete support in sports science and nutrition, including massage, physical therapy, treatment, relaxation, and rehabilitation services using the latest technology.
SAT Director Kongsakd Yodmani highlighted what makes this Thai House special: because the games are held in Japan, the country of origin of Ajinomoto, the company is supporting and managing nutrition for Thai athletes. Thailand is the first foreign nation where Ajinomoto has offered such support following its ongoing success with Japan's national team. Yodmani noted that several other countries are now adopting Thailand's model of partnering with Ajinomoto for athlete nutrition.
"Nutrition for Thai athletes will be analyzed and allocated according to each athlete's individual training program, ensuring customized approaches suited to their specific needs," Yodmani explained. "The food will feature familiar Thai and local flavors, which is an upgrade in this Thai House iteration and we believe will contribute to better athletic performance on the field."
The Thai House will operate in two phases: September 18-24 at Chunichi Hall & Conference, and September 25 to October 3 at TKP Nagoya Sakae Conference Center.
