Two MPs Deny Wrongdoing in Election Commission Case
Two MPs referred to Thailand's Supreme Court in a dissolution case denied wrongdoing on September 15, with one declining to address questions about financial transfers while the other said she had already clarified matters with election off
At 1:50 p.m. on September 15, 2026, at Parliament, Nipont Ekwanich, one of 26 MPs referred by the Election Commission to the Supreme Court's Electoral Division in the dissolution case, was interviewed about the matter. He stated he was not worried and would wait to see what charges would be filed, but firmly denied doing anything wrong as alleged, saying he had already given an explanation. When asked whether he would confirm reports about financial transfers were false, Nipont did not answer, waved his hand, and walked away.
Meanwhile, Ajcharaporn Homsai, another of the 26 MPs in the dissolution case, said she was not concerned. When asked if she confirmed she had done nothing wrong as alleged and whether she had already clarified matters with the Election Commission, Ajcharaporn said she had. When asked whether lawmakers hugging her earlier in the day was a show of support, she said they hug each other every day as a normal practice.
When asked if the 26 MPs had discussed how to proceed, Ajcharaporn said they had not discussed it. When pressed on whether they would fight the case separately rather than as a united group, she confirmed that was correct.
