Two Players Join Thailand Squad for Asian Games Football
Two Thai forwards joined the national squad's training session in Japan ahead of their Asian Games opener against Kyrgyzstan on September 16, with both players expressing confidence in the team's improved maturity and preparation.
Thailand's men's football team for the 20th Asian Games "Aichi-Nagoya 2026" (September 19 – October 4, 2026) conducted a training session on September 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Thai time at Okazaki City Ryuhoku Stadium in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, preparing for their opening Group A match against Kyrgyzstan.
The training emphasized tactical and technical work. Two recent arrivals, Yotskor Burapa from Chonburi FC and Thanawut Phodchai from SC Sagamihara, joined the squad for the session. Before training, students from Tokiwa Elementary School attended to offer encouragement to the athletes.
Yotskor Burapa, Thailand's forward for the Asian Games, said his physical condition had recovered well after sufficient rest and he hoped to help his teammates in the coming match. Regarding the opening game against Kyrgyzstan, he expressed confidence in the team's preparation and winning the first match. He noted that this Asian Games squad felt different, with improved maturity compared to the previous edition, and he was committed to giving his all while prioritizing the team's deep run in the tournament.
Thanawut Phodchai, another forward for Thailand, stated he was in peak physical condition and aimed to contribute maximally to help the team advance as far as possible. He expressed gratitude for support from fans and his club, and felt he had adapted well to Japan. He pledged to perform at his best and asked Thai fans for their support.
