Manhunt Ends With Arrest of Man Over Fatal Stabbing
Police arrested a 42-year-old man in Chanthaburi after a three-day manhunt following a fatal stabbing at a Rayong industrial estate dormitory on September 14, where he killed his 37-year-old girlfriend during a jealousy-fueled argument.
Region 2 Police, together with Chanthaburi and Rayong investigators, have closed a manhunt with the arrest of a 42-year-old man, identified as Runchai, charged with murder under an arrest warrant issued by Rayong Provincial Court on September 15, 2569. The incident occurred on September 14 at approximately 15:00 in a dormitory room at the Pluak Daeng Industrial Estate in Rayong, where Runchai had a violent argument with his 37-year-old girlfriend, Ms. Alisa, over jealousy concerns. During the altercation, Runchai stabbed her in the ribs with a sharp knife, causing severe injuries that led to her death at hospital.
After the killing, Runchai fled the Rayong area on a motorcycle, traveling over 150 kilometres to hide in a room near the Satorn fresh market in Chanthaburi. Police received a tip-off and surrounded the location, where Runchai attempted to escape into his room but was tackled and detained by officers. During interrogation, he admitted to being the wanted suspect and the perpetrator of the attack.
Runchai was initially processed at Chanthaburi Provincial Police Station before being transferred to Pluak Daeng Police Station in Rayong for further legal proceedings.
