Man Arrested for Killing Woman in Jealous Rage
A 47-year-old man has been arrested in Kanchanaburi for allegedly stabbing a 50-year-old woman to death in a jealous rage after she began dating another man following their separation.
Police in Kanchanaburi have arrested a 47-year-old man, Tor or Isarakorn, on suspicion of murdering a 50-year-old woman named Chudarat, known as Mot, in a rental room within the Talat Sot Chukdon community on September 18. The attack occurred early in the morning, with the suspect using a knife to slash the victim's throat and stab her body more than 10 times. Officers apprehended him while he was fleeing a short distance from the scene.
During interrogation at Muang Kanchanaburi Police Station, the suspect confessed to the killing and claimed jealousy as the motive. He stated that after they separated, the victim began seeing another man, which triggered his jealousy. When his attempts at reconciliation failed, he decided to attack her in anger. However, police remain unconvinced by his statement and plan to conduct further investigation. Officers collected DNA samples from the suspect's mouth and took his clothing for blood analysis.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Chairat Buakhom, commander of Muang Kanchanaburi Police Station, confirmed that the suspect admitted to using a knife to slash the victim's throat and stab various parts of her body with over 10 wounds before fleeing and being caught. The rental house where the incident occurred has previously been raided by police in connection with drug trafficking offenses, and authorities acknowledge it as a hotspot for drug-related activity. Background checks reveal the suspect has been arrested multiple times for drug-related offenses, assault, and attempted murder, and was recently released from custody before committing this crime. Police have announced they will increase surveillance in the area and urged residents to report any suspected drug activity.
