Man Arrested After Stabbing Killing Companion Over Dispute
A 38-year-old man was arrested in Rayong after fatally stabbing a 54-year-old drinking companion in a dispute that escalated when he returned with a knife seeking revenge.
Ban Kaai Police have arrested a 38-year-old man, Thanasak (nickname Ern), in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 54-year-old man at a rented room in Chak, Mueang 1, Chak Bok Subdistrict, Ban Kaai District, Rayong Province, at approximately 6 a.m. The victim died from knife wounds to the head and face while sitting with a group drinking. Police initially pursued the suspect, who initially fled the scene. On September 24 at 6:30 p.m., officers from the Rayong Provincial Police Region and Ban Kaai Police, led by Deputy Inspector Akna Suwan Charoen, captured the suspect at a relative's house near the incident location. A long knife was recovered as evidence.
During interrogation, Thanasak confessed to all charges. He stated that while riding his motorcycle past the rental room, the victim called him to stop and claimed they had a history of physical conflict. The victim then allegedly attempted to stab him with a knife, prompting him to flee. Motivated by revenge and anger over being challenged and attacked, Thanasak returned home to retrieve a long knife, rode back with a friend, and repeatedly stabbed the victim in the head until he collapsed and died. Police have charged him with a serious offense and transferred him to Ban Kaai Police Station for further legal proceedings.
