Music Teacher Removed After Threatening Elementary Students

The Paveena Hongsukul Foundation has arranged physical examinations for four boys and filed a legal case. The children remain frightened and unwilling to attend school. The mayor of Ayutthaya has ordered the music teacher's removal from service and established a fact-finding committee.
On September 14, four families brought their sons—fifth and sixth graders—to lodge a complaint with the Paveena Hongsukul Foundation for Children and Women after a male music teacher, approximately 50 years old, attacked them and threatened them with a one-meter sword held to their chests, saying "Do you all want to die?" All four boys are now severely traumatized and afraid to go to school.
Most recently, Paveena Hongsukul, the foundation's chairwoman, arranged for foundation staff to accompany the four families and their sons to Police Hospital for medical examinations to support the investigation by Ayutthaya City Police, with the medical findings to be included in the case file.
Currently, the children remain fearful when the music teacher is mentioned and have had to stop attending classes. On September 17, the foundation will take all four boys to see a psychiatrist and pediatrician for mental health recovery. The foundation will continue supporting the children until their mental condition returns to normal.
Regarding the teacher responsible, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Somthong Sanphakosol, mayor of Ayutthaya, convened school administrators and relevant officials to discuss and investigate the incident. He has ordered the teacher's removal from service pending a fact-finding investigation, while legal proceedings will follow police procedures.
