Highway rescue volunteers in Buriram received a report from residents that mysterious bags had been illegally dumped and scattered across a community forest along Highway 348 near Nang Rong-Pak Chong road in Nong Sai subdistrict, Nang Rong district, Buriram province. Officers coordinated with local leaders to inspect the area and discovered bags containing butchered pig bones and fresh meat, which had begun to emit a foul smell. Authorities suspect traders may have illegally dumped unsold or spoiled meat, though the exact reason remains unclear. The meat may have been infected with disease, or scattered further by dogs seeking food. Initial inspections suggest the dumped pig bones and meat total at least 100 kilograms. Samran Samruatwong, a highway rescue volunteer, said residents foraging in the forest reported finding mysterious bags scattered throughout the community forest. Upon investigation with local leaders, they confirmed the bags contained butchered pig bones and meat spread across multiple locations in the forest, with no clear information about who dumped them or why. The livestock department has been contacted to collect samples for testing to determine whether the meat is contaminated with disease and to identify its source. The remaining bones and meat will be buried in a pit to prevent the spread of various diseases.
