Thai Deputy PM Sends Support, Pledges Full Backing for Athletes at Asian Games
Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul pledged full government support for Thai athletes at the 20th Asian Games in Japan, sending encouragement and assurances that budget constraints won't hinder the team's performance.
Surasak Phanthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, who traveled to Japan to support Thai athletes at the 20th Asian Games, announced on September 21 that Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul sent snacks and words of encouragement to the Thai delegation. Anutin instructed that athletes and Thai staff be cared for thoroughly, with any problems resolved quickly and budget not to be a concern. He urged everyone to maintain good morale, rest fully, and be in top condition for training and competition in order to achieve strong results and bring honor to Thailand.
Regarding the impact of Typhoon Doksuri on Japan and the Games, Surasak said that Tokyo has experienced heavy rain, but Nagoya has not been significantly affected so far. Nevertheless, all relevant parties are monitoring the situation closely to prepare for any developments, as trains and flights have been delayed or halted as a precaution. To date, the Thai team has encountered no difficulties.
