Bangkok's Department of Public Works announced on September 21 that it has hired DW Partnership to carry out a 24.9 million baht renovation of the Prachanukul overpass. The work, which begins September 28, 2026 and concludes April 7, 2027, will run only during nighttime hours from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. and includes resurfacing the bridge deck, repairing joints and railings, refreshing all traffic markings, and improving access ramps to ensure safe and convenient use.
According to Praphat Luangsriniphon, director of the Department of Public Works in Din Daeng District, the repairs became necessary after inspections confirmed severe surface damage on the bridge, particularly on the Vibhavadi Road approach lane, which has resulted in frequent traffic accidents. Traffic police and municipal officers will be stationed at the site during construction to assist drivers, and the department urges the public to avoid the route during repair hours or exercise extreme caution if they must cross.
