The team eventually arrived at the venue just in time and defeated Palau 59–48. Coach Sanit Chuea Thai posted about the situation, questioning how such a delay could occur in a country renowned for punctuality. He noted the team waited more than an hour for the bus despite having a critical match against Nepal scheduled for 10:40 a.m., with less than an hour remaining and still requiring 30 minutes of travel time, plus time to change clothes, apply athletic tape, and address player injuries before competition.
