Thai Para Team Waits Hours for Nagoya Hotel After Flight
The Thai para‑sports team arrived in Nagoya early this morning but faced a nearly five‑hour wait for transport to their hotel, delaying rest until around 2 a.m. The athletes are in Japan to prepare for the 5th Asian Para Games, scheduled for October 18‑24 2026, where Thailand will compete in all 18 sports. A Facebook post by the para‑badminton team manager highlighted the delay and urged better logistics to avoid fatigue among the athletes.
Nagoya maintained its standards as the Thai para sports team arrived on an early morning flight at 6 a.m., only to wait nearly five hours for transport to their accommodation. They finally checked in close to midnight and did not get to rest until about 2 a.m.
The update concerns Thailand’s para athletes heading to the 5th Asian Para Games in Nagoya, Japan (October 18‑24 2026), where the host is organizing 18 sports for 492 gold medals. Thailand is fielding a full contingent after departing on October 11.
A Facebook post by Pipat Chantarapaichit, manager of the national para‑badminton team, said the flight landed at 6 p.m. but the squad waited until almost 11 p.m. for arranged transport, expecting to rest around 2 a.m. the next day.
He noted that while handling large numbers of athletes may involve logistical limits, the long wait after travel adds fatigue, especially for para‑athletes with distinct mobility and rest needs. He hopes the organizers will improve coordination and transport so athletes receive proper care and are ready for competition.
