Thai Para Weightlifters Train in Hotel Awaiting Equipment
The Thai Para Weightlifting Team has moved its training to a hotel lobby while waiting for the host city to finish installing equipment for the 2026 Asian Para Games in Nagoya, Japan. Athletes are doing warm‑up and strength exercises to keep their upper‑body muscles ready, while monitoring each other's safety. They plan to return to the official venue as soon as the facilities are operational.
The Thai Para Weightlifting Team has shifted to a temporary training routine, doing warm‑up exercises together in their hotel because the host city still hasn’t finished installing the training facilities. The team is preparing for the 5th Asian Para Games in Aichi‑Nagoya 2026, scheduled for October 18‑24, 2026, where 18 sports will compete for 492 gold medals. With the venue not yet fully ready, the athletes have turned the hotel lobby into a makeshift training area, stretching and warming up their upper‑body muscles — shoulders, arms and chest — to keep them active. They also closely monitor each other’s safety, assisting with exercises such as supported push‑ups to maintain peak fitness, ready to move onto the official field as soon as the equipment is operational.
