Thai Weightlifters Train Hard Before Asian Games Debut
Thailand's weightlifting team is in final preparations for the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, starting September 23, 2026, with two female competitors set to debut on opening day.
Thailand's weightlifting team is preparing intensively ahead of the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, which begins September 23, 2026. On September 22, team manager Somsak Kanjanakar revealed that athletes received full rest in the morning, with particular focus on competitors Sutasinee Kaewsing (49kg women) and Second Lieutenant Surjana Kambae (53kg women), who will compete on September 23. Other athletes undertook light warm-ups and stretching, while some coaches conducted physiotherapy at the competition venue. Between 3-5 p.m. local time, the coaching staff led the full training programme.
Retired Major General Intarathorn Yodbangtai, honorary chairman, and Bussaba Yodbangtai, advisory chairman of the Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association, visited to encourage and observe the team's training.
