Husband of Benz Prik Thai Protests Kart Race Engine Spec
Husband of Benz Prik Thai protested the result of a youth kart racing championship, claiming the winning kart used an engine with outdated specifications not used by other competitors. He said his son finished second and that the protest aims to ensure fair competition, not to secure a win for his child. He has filed a complaint with the Royal Thai Motorsport Association for verification.
Husband of Benz Prik Thai, who manages the TNP Motorsport team, said he protested the result of the TrueVisions Championship 2026 Cadet B kart race not because his eight‑year‑old son Nong McLaren lost, but because he wants clarity on competition standards. Nong McLaren finished second in the 8‑9 age group and third overall. After the race he learned the winning kart used an IAME X30 Water Swift 60cc engine with outdated parts, unlike the other 20 karts in the field. He questioned whether such parts are allowed under the series rules, how the engines were inspected, and whether all karts were checked to the same standard, and filed a complaint with the Royal Thai Motorsport Association for verification. He stressed he is not accusing any child or parent, will accept the outcome if it complies with the rules, but wants equal competition for all kids. He also posted on social media questioning the fairness of the event if different rules apply to young racers.
