An unidentified 26-year-old motorcyclist died after his bike crashed into a trash bin on Sukhumvit Road in Sattahip early on October 12. Police said the rider was speeding and lost control before hitting the bin, suffering fatal injuries. Rescue workers attempted CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
At around 00:00 on October 12, 2024, officers from Nong Jomtien Police Station received a report of a motorcycle losing control and crashing into a trash bin on Sukhumvit Road heading toward Sattahip, about 200 meters past the Huai Yai overpass. Arriving rescuers found the man unconscious without a pulse and, despite performing CPR, declared him dead on the spot. The victim, later named Jetthada, 26, had serious wounds and had lost a large amount of blood. Nearby lay his white Honda Force motorcycle, license plate from Rayong, and the trash bin was badly damaged.
Witnesses said they heard a loud bang outside their homes and rushed out to see the motorcycle had struck the bin. A foreign driver who had been following the bike said it was swerving left and right at high speed before it veered off and slammed into the bin, throwing the rider from the bike. The motorcycle skidded far away, and when responders approached they saw the rider was not breathing and there was too much blood to touch. Police have taken photos, gathered evidence, and are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to determine the exact cause. The body was sent to a hospital for autopsy.
