PEA Expands Power Grid to Serve Remote Communities
The Provincial Electricity Authority completed the third phase of a rural electrification project in Nakhon Ratchasima, bringing power access to 48 households in Nong Pruea village through new high-voltage distribution infrastructure.
On September 20, 2026, Deputy Interior Minister Palpeer Suwannachuay presided over the opening ceremony of the third phase of the rural electricity expansion project, with Regional Electricity Authority Director Mongkol Treekit reporting and PEA managers and staff in attendance at Nong Pruea village, Huai Thalaeng district, Nakhon Ratchasima province.
The Regional Electricity Authority is advancing efforts to bring electricity access to remote communities, enabling residents to use reliable power for daily life and income generation. The Nong Pruea project expanded the high-voltage distribution network by installing 81 high-voltage poles (22 kV), 101 low-voltage poles, and three 30 kVA transformers, providing efficient electricity service to 48 households in the area.
The project reflects PEA's commitment to delivering electricity as an essential service that creates opportunity and reduces inequality in remote areas—supporting government policy to improve public welfare through reliable power supply for living, education, and employment. PEA remains dedicated to developing a comprehensive, adequate, and safe electricity system, enabling all communities to use power as a foundation for stable livelihoods, income growth, and improved quality of life.
