At 11:00 am on September 4, 2025, Khlong Kaeng Nakhon Police received a report of a motorcycle collision with a municipal water truck near the entrance to Sri Phong Chai village on Phahon Yothin Road, Chompu Sub-district, Mueang Lampang District. The truck was in the process of watering trees in the median when the accident occurred, prompting immediate contact with Sawang Nakhon Lampang rescue services.
At the scene, rescue workers found a motorcycle with a Lampang license plate overturned behind a red municipal water truck. The rider, identified as Kritika Songwanna, 17, was seriously injured and unconscious with a lacerated right eyebrow and a fractured right leg. Witness accounts stated that the student was riding at high speed and struck the rear of the water truck without applying the brakes. Despite wearing a safety helmet, the force of the impact caused severe injuries. Sawang Nakhon Lampang rescue personnel provided assistance and coordinated with an ambulance from Khlong Kaeng Nakhon-Ram Hospital to transfer and provide emergency care.
Rescuers performed CPR at the scene to save her life before urgently transporting her to Lampang Hospital. Police are investigating the cause of the accident and will proceed with further legal procedures.
