Woman Missing Seven Days After Boyfriend Picks Her Up; Truck Found in Chiang Mai
A 33-year-old woman vanished after her boyfriend picked her up from a Kanchanaburi house on August 28; their white pickup truck was last spotted in Chiang Mai, prompting police and a private investigator to search across the region.
Wichuda, known as Lopla and aged 33, disappeared from a rented house in Lad Yai subdistrict, Kanchanaburi city, after her boyfriend Nut picked her up on the evening of August 28, 2016. Security camera footage from her sister's house captured Lopla arriving by car before Nut drove up to collect her. When her mother and son messaged Nut asking about her whereabouts, he denied being with her, and the family lost all contact with Lopla. This alarmed relatives and friends, as Lopla, who has a 13-year-old son, had never disappeared for such a long period before.
On September 4, 2025, Ropee Chamnan Ruea, a private investigator who previously helped solve the Am cyanide case, announced that Lopla's mother has asked for his assistance in the search. He has coordinated with Kanchanaburi Provincial Police Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Phosawee Rueangphu and Chiang Mai Provincial Police, as the white Mitsubishi four-door pickup truck was last sighted in Chiang Mai. The vehicle is currently believed to be in the jurisdiction of Nah Wai Police Station in Chiang Dao district, Chiang Mai province, but neither Lopla nor Nut has been located.
Ropee stated that more than seven days have now passed since the disappearance, leaving Lopla's mother extremely worried and exhausted. Her son has stopped attending school to help search for his mother. Ropee appealed to Nut, saying that if there are any problems, he should come back and discuss a solution with the family. He also conveyed to Lopla's mother that she has confirmed she would not object if the couple genuinely care for each other, but she hopes they will return and talk things through properly.
Ropee urged anyone with information about Lopla or Nut—whether in Thai border areas or neighboring countries—to immediately contact police or reach out to him directly so that the pair can be brought back to their family safely.
