A 50-year-old mother appealed to the media on August 3 after her 33-year-old daughter, known as Pla, disappeared on the evening of August 28 and has not been in contact for over five days. The mother said her daughter left home that evening saying she had errands to run, then stopped answering calls. On the morning of August 31, the mother learned from a relative that around 10 p.m. on August 28, her daughter had parked her sedan at the relative's house before being picked up by Nut, her boyfriend, who was driving a white pickup truck. The couple drove off together without saying where they were going or for how long.
When the mother tried to contact Nut, he denied ever meeting the daughter and claimed he had been working abroad. Security camera footage, however, clearly showed him picking her up. After the mother told Nut she had seen the CCTV video, he blocked her immediately. The woman's 10-year-old son said his last contact with his mother was on the evening of August 28, when she said she was going out of province on errands. His messages to Nut asking about his mother's whereabouts were ignored, with Nut claiming he was working overseas.
The mother said her daughter is normally devoted to her son and would never abandon him for five days. She noted the couple had a troubled relationship marked by physical violence and repeated breakups and reconciliations. She fears her daughter may have been lured into danger and is appealing for her to come home. Lad Yai Police confirmed that a report has been filed and officers have tracked the pickup truck to Chiang Mai province, though neither Nut nor the daughter have been located.
