Police Seize 500kg Ice Worth 100 Million Baht
Police arrested one man and seized 500kg of methamphetamine worth 100 million baht hidden in cardboard boxes at a Nonthaburi residence following a tracked delivery.
At 12:15 a.m. on September 3, Bang Bua Thong Police received a tip about a major drug seizure at a residential property in Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi Province, and immediately responded.
Officers discovered 500 kilograms of Class 1 narcotics (methamphetamine ice) concealed in cardboard boxes stacked inside the home's hallway. Police units, military intelligence officers from the Special Operations Command, and narcotics suppression officers conducted the search and made an arrest.
The operation followed an earlier investigation in which authorities had broken up a suspect network attempting to store and distribute drugs. Officers tracked a white Isuzu D-Max pickup truck with Bangkok registration plates arriving at the property, prompting the search warrant.
They found approximately 500 kilograms of drug-filled orange bags bearing Chinese characters inside 56 cardboard boxes in the hallway. Officers apprehended a man identified only as Thanadej and seized the contraband for prosecution under drug trafficking laws.
