On September 11, Deputy Police Commissioner General Samran Nualma, Bangkok Metropolitan Police Commander Siiam Bumserm, and other senior officers announced the arrest of a 52-year-old man named Thanesh and the seizure of 400 kilograms of methamphetamine. The arrest followed operations in Bang Saothong Market in Samut Prakan province and a residential area in Phrasamutrchedi district, Samut Prakan, on September 9.
Police expanded their investigation after seizing 205 kilograms of ice on August 14, discovering a drug trafficking network that transported and distributed narcotics via courier services to customers in southern Thailand. The drugs were being shipped in parcels through a transport company in Hat Yai, Songkhla. Officers conducted surveillance and tracked a transport vehicle, discovering 300 kilograms of methamphetamine inside when they inspected it at a gas station near Rama 2 Road in Bangkok. A search of the suspect's residence uncovered an additional 100 kilograms of ice.
The suspect, with a prior seven-year conviction for drug trafficking, was charged with conspiracy to distribute Category 1 drugs (methamphetamine) without authorization for commercial purposes. In a related operation, police arrested Vivat (nickname Dtoi), 39, a truck driver, and Phimolpan (nickname Fah), 30, a driver, in connection with transporting methamphetamine.
