Man Arrested Spray-Painting Stolen Motorcycle
Police arrested a 45-year-old man in Bangkok on September 11 while spray-painting a motorcycle he had stolen three days earlier from outside the Interior Ministry building.
At 1:00 p.m. on September 11, Prasit Wiratayaporn, commander of Samranyarat Police Station, ordered officers Suwich Lomsak, Rapipong Bounkham, and the investigative unit to arrest Rangsarn (surname withheld), 45, along with a stolen motorcycle, a can of red spray paint, and three fuses. The arrest was made on a public street along Soi Nuan Chan 6 in Nuan Chan subdistrict, Bueng Kum district, Bangkok, on charges of theft or receiving stolen goods.
Under interrogation, the suspect confessed that on September 8 at approximately 5:15 a.m., he stole a motorcycle parked opposite the Interior Ministry building on Bamrung Muang Road in Pranakorn district. He then concealed the motorcycle in Soi Nuan Chan 6 and was in the process of spray-painting over the original color when police suddenly raided and arrested him.
A background check revealed the suspect was previously arrested in 2550 (2007) on charges of nighttime theft in Bang Chan Police Station's jurisdiction. The investigating officers transferred the suspect and seized items to Samranyarat Police Station's interrogation unit for legal proceedings.
