Man Arrested for Stealing Motorcycles Across Province
A 43-year-old man was arrested in Sisaket Province for stealing at least 12 motorcycles across multiple districts, which he traded for methamphetamine before the vehicles were smuggled to Laos.
Sisaket Police coordinated efforts to track down and arrest a suspect who had been stealing motorcycles across multiple districts in Sisaket Province, deploying surveillance teams at locations where the criminal was expected to strike. Officers spotted a suspicious man in the Phai Bung Police Station area displaying signs of committing a motorcycle theft and immediately made the arrest. The suspect was identified as Athorn, 43, from Nong Hai Subdistrict in Muang Sisaket District. Under interrogation and investigation, Athorn confessed to stealing motorcycles across various areas. He claimed responsibility for three thefts in Muang Sisaket, two in Nam Kliang, one in Phayuh, one in Benjalak, two in Phai Bung, and three in Kanthralak Police Station areas, totaling at least 12 incidents. He said he traded the stolen motorcycles for methamphetamine, once receiving 30 pills in exchange and having consumed 2 pills before his arrest. The motorcycles were reportedly forwarded to Laos. Background checks revealed that Athorn had recently been released from prison before resuming his criminal activities. Police are continuing to investigate individuals involved in receiving the stolen motorcycles and tracking the route used to transport vehicles out of the province.
