Police Bust Motorcycle Theft Gang Shipping 100+ Bikes to Laos
Police arrested a 21-year-old man in Kamphaeng Phet province who confessed to stealing over 100 motorcycles across Bangkok with an accomplice, shipping them to Laos for a financier nicknamed "Jimmy" at 25,000 baht per bike.
Police suppression units have broken up a motorcycle theft ring operating throughout Bangkok and its vicinity, which had stolen over 100 motorcycles and sent them to a Laotian financier. The gang stole two motorcycles each night, earning 25,000 baht per bike. On September 18, 2569, officers arrested Sathit (surname withheld), age 21, under court warrant 4713/2569 issued August 17, 2569, at his residence in Khlong Khlung district, Kamphaeng Phet province.
The investigation revealed that Sathit and an accomplice named Nath targeted Honda Wave motorcycles across Bangkok and nearby areas on orders from a Laotian financier nicknamed "Jimmy." After stealing the bikes, they loaded them into vans and transported them to the northeastern region for delivery to the border. Sathit received 23,000 to 25,000 baht per bike, while van drivers earned 2,500 baht each.
Police had previously arrested Nath at a gas station on Lat Phrao Soi 44 in Bangkok. Sathit initially fled to Kamphaeng Phet but was later apprehended. During interrogation, he confessed to stealing two motorcycles nightly over several months, totaling over 100 vehicles. He faces charges of nighttime theft using motor vehicles. Additionally, Sathit was found to have an outstanding warrant from Nakhon Pathom Provincial Court for fraud, and has been transferred to Bangkok's Bang Khen Police Station for further legal proceedings.
