Bangkok Blue Line MRT Shut Down After Electrical Short Circuit
Bangkok's Blue Line MRT halted service between Bang O and Kamphaeng Phet stations after an electrical short circuit, with shuttle buses deployed to help stranded passengers on both the Blue and Purple lines.
The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMA) announced that the Blue Line MRT (Chaloem Ratchamongkol Line) experienced an electrical short circuit that disrupted service. The Blue Line halted operations between Bang O and Kamphaeng Phet stations, while the Purple Line (Chaloemratchadham Line) also suspended service between Bang Son and Tao Poon stations.
The BMA has coordinated with the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority to deploy shuttle buses to assist passengers along the affected routes. Three buses operate between Suan Chatuchak, Tao Poon, and Bang Bua stations, with two additional buses serving the route between Bang Son and Tao Poon, using Tao Poon as a connection point.
The BMA team and relevant agencies are currently working to inspect and resolve the situation, prioritizing the safety of passengers and staff.
