Thailand Beats Indonesia 3-0 to Reach Asian Games Semis
Thailand's women's volleyball team swept Indonesia 3-0 in the Asian Games quarter-finals to advance to the semi-finals unbeaten, with Pimpichaya scoring 20 points in the dominant performance.
Thailand's women's volleyball team defeated Indonesia 3-0 on Sunday to advance to the semi-finals of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. Thailand, ranked 13th in the world, beat 53rd-ranked Indonesia 25-10, 29-27, 25-16 in their quarter-final at Park Arena Komaki. The victory extended Thailand's unbeaten run in the tournament, with the team yet to drop a set.
Coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai, known as Coach Ott, fielded a strong starting line-up led by captain Pornpun Guedpard, Thatdao Nuekjang, Sasipaporn Janthawisut, Pimpichaya Kokram, Chatchu-on Moksri and Kaewkalaya Kamulthala. Piyanut Pannoy played as libero.
Thailand dominated the opening set, quickly building a comfortable lead before taking it 25-10. Indonesia responded strongly in the second set, with solid defence helping them build a 12-point advantage. Thailand fought back and eventually levelled the score at 24-24 before completing the comeback to win 29-27.
Thailand regained control in the third set and pulled away to close out the match 25-16, with Warisara Seetaloed delivering the final point. Pimpichaya was Thailand's top scorer with 20 points. Thailand will face the winner of Sunday's quarter-final between China and Vietnam in the semi-finals on 21 September.
