Thailand Opens New IPO Fast-Track Program to Attract Investment
Thailand's Board of Investment launched a fast-track IPO program offering tax incentives to high-potential companies listing on the Thai stock exchange, with 17 new projects valued at 121 billion baht expected to create 14,000 jobs across m
The Board of Investment approved a new investment promotion framework at its September 11 meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ekniti Nitithanprayoon and Finance Minister. The new direction prioritizes real economic value from investments, including domestic value addition, Thai business integration into supply chains, high-skilled job creation, research and development, and technology transfer. Success metrics will shift from measuring investment volume alone to measuring actual outcomes, with joint key performance indicators linking incentives to concrete value creation for the country.
Under the BOI to IPO program, the Board is partnering with the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and capital market authorities to support high-potential companies entering the Thai stock exchange (SET), Market for Alternative Investment (mai), or LiVEx. New Economy companies listed on SET will receive an additional 3-year corporate income tax exemption or 50% reduction for an additional 5 years, while conventional companies receive an additional 2-year exemption or 50% reduction for an additional 3 years, depending on business type.
The Thailand FastPass mechanism has been expanded with 17 new projects from 15 companies, representing over 121 billion baht in investment and plans to create approximately 14,000 jobs in feed, processed food, electronics, appliances, automotive, and auto parts sectors. Combined with existing projects, the FastPass system now includes 42 major projects totaling over 344 billion baht in planned investment and over 27,000 planned jobs, with over 21 billion baht already realized.
