Hospital Refrigerator Truck Siren Mysteriously Activates During AC Repair

On September 11, a Facebook user named "Oai Automotive Accessories Nang Rong" posted a video of an incident while repairing the air conditioning system of a hospital refrigerator truck, captioning it: "Installing an AC unit when the siren suddenly went off by itself. What a scare!" The post quickly attracted comments and shares. The refrigerator truck had been brought in because its air conditioning was not cooling properly. While the technician was installing and assembling the AC unit, the siren suddenly blared with flashing lights on its own. It took the mechanic nearly five minutes to find the off switch.

Reporters then visited Oai Automotive Accessories shop on Route 24 in Nang Rong subdistrict, Buriram province, opposite the Nang Rong municipal office. They found the refrigerator truck with registration plate Kb-6961 Buriram parked there. Solit Srilasaeng, 40, the shop owner, revealed that the shop has been operating for about 10 years and has encountered similar strange incidents multiple times. Earlier in the year, a refrigerator truck from a provincial hospital that came for repairs experienced spontaneous electrical system activation.

Rescue and ambulance vehicles from various organizations that use the shop's services have also encountered puzzling incidents, such as doors opening on their own. The shop had only worked on the air conditioning system for this vehicle and did not touch the electrical or siren systems, so the owner was baffled by the spontaneous activation. The technician and staff spent nearly five minutes investigating and attempting to shut it down before finding the switch. According to Solit, it is difficult to determine the cause of the electrical malfunction since the work area was unrelated to the siren system. Notably, the siren switch required two presses to activate, making the incident feel particularly unusual, which is why he decided to record a video.

Regarding superstitious interpretations, Solit said it cannot be confirmed what caused the incident, but from a personal belief perspective, it could be interpreted in various ways. He suggested it might be a sign of gratitude or a message, as the shop has regularly made merit and assisted charitable foundations and rescue units. He expressed his intention that the repaired vehicles return to full operational capacity for patient rescue missions. The shop owner also intends to make merit and dedicate blessings to those who have passed away, according to his personal beliefs.
