PM Keeps Door Open For Kao Tham Party Coalition

Prime Minister Anuthine Charnvirakul said on September 11 at the Office of Anti-Money Laundering that he has not ruled out Kao Tham Party joining the government, stating that in politics there is no such thing as "no opportunity" and that all possibilities remain open. He confirmed the government's stability remains strong and there are currently no plans to reshuffle the cabinet.

When asked about Kao Tham Party leader Thammanus Promphae, the PM noted they remain close friends, saying "it's been over ten years now, we're from the same generation."

Regarding whether the government needs additional political parties to strengthen its position, the PM said the administration is already strong but must continue working to maintain that strength, push through its policies, secure cooperation from all sides, and build confidence among ministers in their work.

When reporters pressed whether the government wanted to become even stronger by adding coalition partners, the PM responded firmly: "It's still strong."

Asked whether there is any possibility Kao Tham Party could join the government within the next four years, the PM stated that politics contains no concept of "no opportunity." When pressed further on whether a cabinet reshuffle might open the door for Kao Tham, he said "everything is possible."

The PM characterized the Kao Tham Party's budget vote as a positive signal, saying it demonstrates to the public and foreign investors that the government has stability, strength, and the capacity to respond to their needs and drive policies forward. On the question of cabinet changes, he simply said "not at this time."
